Barbering goes back 3,500 years. When archaeologists excavated ancient Egypt, they found razors and tools dated to around 3500 BC. Men have been sitting in a chair and trusting another person with a blade near their face for longer than most professions have existed.
Leather Strop was built with that in mind. We are on Broadway Ave. on the West Side of Evansville, and everything we do here is rooted in the idea that barbering is a craft worth taking seriously. Not a chain. Not a quick in-and-out. A real barbershop with barbers who know their work.
Our barbers are local. They grew up here, they work here, and they are invested in this community in a way that a franchise staffed by rotating employees never could be. When you sit in our chair, you are not talking to a stranger. You are talking to someone who knows Evansville the same way you do.
We built the shop to feel settled and real because that is what it is. Come in once and you will understand what we mean.
