Do I need an appointment or can I walk in?
We welcome walk-ins when we have availability, but booking ahead guarantees your spot. You can book online through our Square appointments page. We recommend booking, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. Cancelling within 24 hours may result in a charge for the full price of your appointment. We hold spots for our clients and last-minute cancellations make it tough to fill that time.
How much does a haircut cost?
A standard haircut is $30 and includes a fade, scissor cut, and lineup. A haircut with a razor fade is also $30 and adds a tailored freehand fade and straight razor lineup. Our Executive Straight Razor Shave is $45 and is the full experience.
What is the Executive Straight Razor Fade?
It is our signature service. You get three scented hot towels, pre-shave oil, shaving cream, two passes with the straight razor, a facial steam and massage, cold compress scented towel, and aftershave and post-shave protection. It takes time and it is worth every minute.
Do you carry products I can take home?
Yes. We carry Layrite pomades and beard oil. We stock the Original Pomade, Superhold Pomade, Cement Pomade, and Beard Oil. Your barber can point you toward the right one for your hair type and style.
Where are you located?
We are at 4220 Broadway Ave. on the West Side of Evansville, Indiana. There is parking right out front. If you are coming from Newburgh, Henderson KY, or Boonville, we are worth the short drive.
Who are your barbers?
Jesse Kratochvil and Sam Johnson. Both are local to Evansville's West Side. Between them they bring years of real barbering experience. They know their craft and they take it seriously.
Do you cut kids' hair?
We are a gentleman's barbershop and cater mainly to men. If you have a young man who is ready for a proper barbershop experience, bring him in and we will take care of him.
What makes Leather Strop different from other barbershops?
We are not a chain. Every barber here is local to the West Side. We honor the tradition of barbering, which goes back over 3,500 years. When you sit in our chair, you are not getting a rushed factory cut. You are getting someone who cares about the result. That matters to us every single time.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM. We are closed on Sundays. Book ahead or call us at (812) 329-4247 and we will get you squared away.
